Cognition said it has launched a refreshed version of its Devin Desktop application. The company’s official X account posted that the update includes an agent command center that is “designed to be smoother and more polished than ever before.” The announcement was made on October 23, 2026.
The tweet did not provide additional technical details about the changes or any other new features beyond the enhanced command center.
The DevinAI account teased the update with “I’ve got a new home on your computer,” emphasizing the desktop-first positioning of the refresh.
Agent Window now embeds full web app
Ambassador bnistordev posted a walkthrough of the Devin Desktop 3.11 changelog, noting that the Agent Window is now the full Devin web app, bringing the sessions sidebar, Automations, Review, Wiki, settings, and Cmd+K directly into the desktop experience.
Ambassador VictorMotricala observed that the refreshed app—previously known as Windsurf—is now Devin Desktop. The app itself is free to download, with usage billed to a ChatGPT subscription. The interface features a kanban view for agents above the IDE.
Improved stability and polished layout
Ambassador Chris_Wozniczek highlighted the more polished layout with integrated web view and improved stability, while noting that the IDE experience developers rely on remains intact.
Ambassador Da7_Tech, who previously experienced crashes with many agents running and scattered windows, had fallen back to the CLI. The new version addresses these stability issues.
Another ambassador, ScarletKc, noted in a Chinese-language post that the stable Devin Desktop now features the Devin Next UI, bringing cleaner and simpler interactions to the main release.
